One of the best parts of the day for me are when DH and DS are both asleep and I can peacefully restore order to the house.. wiping , swiffering and windexing ... putting things back .. finding missing puzzle pieces
Every object without its wearer looks so bereft .. that I am sometimes quite maudlin
Anyway these soothing rituals of life are so comforting to me that its little wonder that to me that people with special needs cling to their rituals too
So well written Kajoli,
I infact get irritated when I am unable to do these rituals. No so much that my house is dirty but,the fact that I get so contented after I do this.
Yes,now i understand my son.
I have read and reread this post over and over. There is something calming and relaxing just reading it and picturing you doing it at night.
I also enjoy doing things when my family sleeps too...it's the only quiet part of the day and I can do them uninterrupted and quietly.
